Volunteer Story: Joan Allen
Like her mother before her, Joan became part of the Bailey-Boushay community. “At first I came out of obligation,” she says, “but now I look forward to next Wednesday.”
People come to Bailey-Boushay House, in Seattle, with a host of challenges. Most have HIV/AIDS. Some are destitute, homeless or alone. Others have mental illness or chemical dependencies. A few are near death.
